Daily Itinerary

Day 1 – Saturday, 3rd July
Arrival in Marseille • Meet & Greet • Welcome Dinner • Horses
Welcome to the South of France! We will meet you at Marseille Airport at 12:00 and then travel together directly to our hotel in the Camargue. This will be our base for the workshop and a comfortable place to settle in before the photography adventure begins. After arriving in the Camargue, there will be time to check in, freshen up, and get familiar with the surroundings. This first afternoon is all about arriving calmly, meeting your fellow photographers, and easing into the creative rhythm of the workshop. In the early evening, we’ll head to the beautiful medieval town of Aigues-Mortes for a relaxed group dinner. Surrounded by historic fortress walls, narrow streets, and a warm southern atmosphere, it’s the perfect setting to start the journey together. After dinner, we’ll gather for an inspiring presentation on creative photography. This session will help set the tone for the days ahead, encouraging you to look beyond simply documenting what you see and start thinking more consciously about mood, light, composition, timing, and storytelling. As the evening light fades, we’ll continue with a blue hour photowalk through Aigues-Mortes. This gentle first photography session gives you the chance to warm up creatively, explore the atmosphere of the town, and capture its historic streets, textures, lights, and reflections at one of the most beautiful moments of the day. Photo Focus: Creative inspiration, blue hour photography, historic streets, atmosphere, composition, and storytelling.

Day 2 – Sunday, 4th July
Medieval Aigues-Mortes • Flamingos • White Horses
We begin the day with a beautiful morning session at an ornithological park, where we’ll photograph one of the Camargue’s most elegant and graceful subjects: flamingos. In the soft morning light, you’ll have the opportunity to focus on reflections, movement, colour, composition, and the quieter side of wildlife photography. After the flamingo session, we’ll return for breakfast and some time to refresh before continuing with a dedicated photography learning session. During the day, we’ll take time to slow down, review techniques, and dive deeper into the creative and practical aspects of photography. We’ll look at composition, camera settings, storytelling, use of light, and how to prepare for photographing fast-moving subjects later in the workshop. This is also a valuable moment to ask questions, discuss your personal photography goals, and get practical guidance from the team. Whether you want to improve your timing, create more dynamic compositions, or better understand how to capture atmosphere and emotion, this session is designed to help you feel more confident before the evening shoot. In the early evening, we’ll enjoy dinner together before heading out for one of the highlights of the workshop: photographing the iconic white horses of the Camargue. As the light begins to soften, we’ll focus on movement, reflections, water, flying manes, and the energy of these magnificent animals in action. Throughout the day, our team will be there to guide and support you, from the more peaceful rhythm of flamingo photography to the excitement and timing of the horse session. It’s a day that combines learning, creativity, and unforgettable photographic moments in the wild heart of the Camargue. Photo Focus: Flamingos, reflections, composition, soft morning light, photography techniques, camera settings, storytelling, white horses, movement, water, evening light, and dynamic action photography.

Day 3 – Monday, 5th July
Black Bulls • White Horses
We begin the day early with one of the most powerful and atmospheric sessions of the workshop: photographing the iconic black bulls of the Camargue. In the soft morning light, you’ll have the chance to capture their strength, movement, and character in a setting that reflects the wild spirit and traditions of this unique region. After the bull session, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast and some well-deserved downtime. There will be time to rest, recharge, back up your images, or simply enjoy a quiet moment after an intense and exciting start to the day. Later in the day, we’ll shift from capturing images to shaping them. During a creative editing class, we’ll look at how to bring more atmosphere, emotion, and personal style into your photographs. This session is designed to help you make stronger creative choices and turn your best captures into finished images with impact. We’ll discuss editing approaches, storytelling, mood, colour, contrast, and how to stay true to the feeling of the moment while creating a more distinctive final image. It’s also a valuable opportunity to review selected photos, ask questions, and gain practical guidance that you can apply directly to your own work. In the early evening, we’ll enjoy dinner together before heading out once again for a spectacular horse photography session. As the light begins to soften, the white horses of the Camargue return to the stage. Expect water, reflections, movement, flying manes, and the thrill of capturing these magnificent animals in action. Throughout the day, our team will be there to guide, support, and help you get the most out of both the photographic and creative process. From the raw power of the bulls in the morning to the elegance and energy of the horses in the evening, this day brings together action, learning, editing, and visual storytelling. Photo Focus: Black bulls in morning light, action and movement, Camargue traditions, creative editing, mood, colour, storytelling, white horses, reflections, dynamic compositions, and powerful animal photography.

Day 4 – Tuesday, 6th July
Farewell Morning • Departure to Marseille
After a compact but unforgettable 4-day photography adventure in the wild heart of the Camargue, it’s time to bring the workshop to a close. We’ll start the morning with a final breakfast at the hotel, sharing last impressions, favourite moments, and perhaps already a few stories behind the images captured during the past days. There will be a little time to pack, take one last look at the Camargue surroundings, and let the experience sink in before we begin our journey back to Marseille. From the blue hour atmosphere of Aigues-Mortes to graceful flamingos, powerful black bulls, creative learning moments, and white horses moving through water and sand, this short but rich workshop will leave you with a portfolio full of energy, atmosphere, and emotion. Once everyone is ready, we’ll transfer the group to Marseille Airport for departure. We say goodbye with memory cards full of unique images, new connections, and the feeling that the Camargue has left its mark. Until next time — merci et à bientôt! Photo Focus: Final impressions, travel day, and saying goodbye to the Camargue.
What Gear to Bring on Your South of France Photo Adventure ?

Prepare to capture the raw beauty and energy of the Camargue. For this workshop, we recommend packing light but smart: a 24–70mm lens for wider scenes, portraits, and atmosphere, plus a 70–200mm or 100–300mm lens for action, movement, and more distant subjects. Most of the horse and bull sessions will be photographed handheld, so make sure your gear is comfortable to carry and quick to use. Bring extra batteries and plenty of memory cards — with white horses, black bulls, water, dust, and golden light, you’ll want to be ready for every frame.
