Upon your arrival at Marseille Airport or the main train station, our friendly guides will be there to meet you and transfer you to our comfortable hotel conveniently located near the airport. With a refreshing pool and on-site restaurant, it’s the perfect place to relax and settle in. In the late afternoon, we’ll come together for a relaxed Welcome Reception. Bring your camera—we’ll go over essential settings and share a few tips to get you ready for the unique locations and lighting conditions you’ll encounter throughout the trip. It’s also a moment to reflect on your personal goals for this workshop: What would you love to capture? What story do you want your photos to tell? As the sun sets, we’ll sit down for a delicious group dinner, a chance to connect with your fellow photographers, chat with your guides, and soak in the excitement of what’s to come. The journey is just beginning! Photo Focus: Gear readiness, mindset setting, and connection.

Day 2 – Sunday, 28th June
Into Provence • Lavender Fields • Sunset Shoot
After your first night’s rest in the South of France, we’ll start the day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before heading out on an unforgettable journey into the heart of Provence. As we drive through the rolling countryside, you’ll see the landscape begin to shift—endless lavender and sunflower fields stretch out in every direction. We'll take our time along the way, pausing to admire the scenery and soak in the unmistakable charm of the region. By midday, we’ll arrive in Valensole just in time for a delicious local lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll visit one of the largest and most breathtaking lavender fields in the area. It’s your first chance to photograph the bold colors, soft curves, and intoxicating aromas of the Provençal landscape. Whether you're shooting wide-angle vistas or close-up details, this is the place to begin building your visual story of Provence. Later, we’ll check into our stunning countryside hotel, complete with a refreshing pool, cozy lounges, and panoramic views over the fields. After a short break to relax and refresh, we’ll enjoy a French-style dinner at the hotel, savoring regional specialties. As golden hour approaches, we’ll head to one of our favorite lavender fields for a sunset shoot—a magical way to end the day as the purple rows glow under the fading light. Photo Focus: Field compositions, color contrast, golden hour light, and first creative captures in lavender country.

Day 3 – Monday, 29th June
Secret Sunrise • Editing & Model Shoot • Lavender Sunset Dinner
We begin the day bright and early, heading to one of our most magical and secret sunrise locations. There’s nothing quite like mornings in Provence—the air is warm and fragrant with lavender, and as the sun rises behind the distant Alps, the fields come alive in waves of purple, gold, and morning mist. It’s a peaceful, unforgettable way to experience and photograph this iconic landscape. After the shoot, we return to the hotel for some well-earned rest followed by a relaxed Provençal breakfast in the cozy hotel surroundings. You’ll then have some free time to enjoy the pool, unwind in the lounge, or if you’re feeling adventurous, take a short trip into Valensole village (just 5 minutes away) to explore, pick up souvenirs, or try the famous lavender ice cream. In the early afternoon, we’ll meet for a late lunch followed by our first photo editing session—a chance to review your sunrise shots, refine your process, and prepare for the afternoon ahead. We’ll also hold a short model photography briefing, offering tips and creative direction for working with natural light and posing in the landscape. Then it’s time to head back out for our first model shoot among the lavender rows. As the light softens into golden hour, you’ll photograph beautiful portraits framed by vibrant colors and soft textures. As the shoot continues, we’ll enjoy a picnic-style dinner and drinks right beside the field, soaking in the Provençal magic. As sunset approaches, the field transforms once more—offering even more chances to capture powerful, poetic images. Photo Focus: Sunrise landscapes, storytelling portraits, model posing, natural light, and golden hour magic.

Day 4 – Tuesday, 30th June
Exploring Gordes, Abbaye de Sénanque & Roussillon
Today we let ourselves sleep in a little—no early alarms! The morning is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Relax with your camera over coffee, review your images from the past few days, or simply take a dip in the pool and wander through the hotel’s tranquil gardens. After a relaxed breakfast, it’s time for another unforgettable adventure. We’ll head out on a scenic drive through the Provençal countryside, passing through sunflower fields, golden wheat plains, lavender rows, and olive groves—the very essence of southern France. Our first stop is the hilltop village of Gordes, often featured in films and one of the most photogenic villages in the region. After a tasty local lunch, we’ll explore its stone streets and nearby viewpoints that showcase the village’s dramatic location and timeless charm. From there, we’ll descend into the valley to visit the Abbaye de Sénanque—a peaceful monastery surrounded by blooming lavender. While we wait for the soft light to fall perfectly across the white stone walls, you can wander the abbey grounds, visit the monastery gift shop, or even enjoy a scoop of their famous monk-made lavender ice cream. As the afternoon turns to evening, we continue to Roussillon, known for its striking red and orange ochre cliffs and pastel-toned houses. The soft evening light makes the colors glow, creating a beautiful contrast to the lavender palette of earlier days. After capturing the last light in this village of color, we’ll return to our hotel for a well-earned night of rest. Photo Focus: Architectural storytelling, color theory in landscapes, mid-day and golden-hour compositions.

Day 5 – Wednesday, 1st July
Provence to Camargue • Medieval Aigues-Mortes • White Horses
Our time in Valensole may be coming to an end, but the next chapter of our journey is nothing short of extraordinary. After a final breakfast at the hotel, we’ll check out and set off toward one of the most thrilling highlights of the entire workshop—photographing the majestic white horses of Camargue. Our route takes us southwest through changing landscapes until we arrive at Aigues-Mortes, a beautifully preserved medieval town surrounded by fortress walls in the heart of the Camargue region. We’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch in the historic town square, followed by some time to explore, photograph, and soak in the atmosphere of this ancient village. Later in the afternoon, we check in to our hotel and regroup for an introductory session on horse photography. We’ll cover essential camera settings, lens choices, safety tips, and creative composition techniques to ensure you’re fully prepared for the evening’s shoot. Then, it’s time. We’ll make our way to a secret beach location, where our elegant white horse models await us. The session begins in the shallow waters, capturing poetic reflections and soft light. As the light lowers, we’ll move to the open sands where the horses will gallop through the surf, manes flying, hooves splashing—the ultimate test of timing, focus, and photographic skill. Throughout the shoot, our team will be there to guide, support, and help you get the absolute best out of your gear and creativity. As the sun dips below the horizon, we’ll return to the hotel with memory cards full of unforgettable moments and hearts full of awe. Photo Focus: Action and motion photography, reflections, dynamic compositions, storytelling with animals.

Day 6 – Thursday, 2nd July
Black Bulls at Sunrise • Flamingos • Wild Horses Reimagined
Today begins with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We rise early and head into the dramatic marshes of Camargue, where we’ll witness and photograph the legendary black Camargue bulls in their natural habitat—an incredibly rare opportunity few ever get to see. As the sun rises over the wetlands, these powerful creatures emerge, guided by their traditional guardians on horseback. You’ll have time to photograph from multiple angles and perspectives as the light dances on the water and the bulls move through the misty marsh. It’s a scene out of a dream, steeped in tradition and wild beauty. After the shoot, we’ll share a warm coffee with the guardians, taking time to chat and capture more candid moments of their majestic horses before heading back to the hotel for a well-earned breakfast and rest. Whether it's a nap in your room or a refreshing dip in the pool, the morning is yours to recharge. In the afternoon, we visit the soulful seaside town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, famous for its rich cultural history and the revered Black Madonna housed in its namesake church. After visiting the church, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and take in the vibrant atmosphere of this coastal gem. From there, we head to the Camargue Ornithological Park, where you’ll have the chance to photograph elegant flamingos up close in their natural wetland environment—a spectacular addition to your wildlife portfolio. As golden hour approaches, we return once more to our secret beach for a second wild horse photoshoot. This is your chance to refine your compositions, explore new ideas, or simply soak in the magic of these animals in motion under the setting sun. Photo Focus: Action wildlife, dramatic sunrise scenes, environmental portraits, creative motion capture.

Day 7 – Friday, 3rd July
Farewell Morning • Departure to Marseille
All great adventures must come to an end—but not without one last peaceful morning in the Camargue. After an unforgettable week of creativity, connection, and photography, we’ll gather for one final breakfast at the hotel. If time allows, enjoy a quick swim, a stroll through the grounds, or perhaps a quiet moment with the horses grazing nearby—a final breath of the beauty that has surrounded us all week. Once everyone is ready, we’ll begin our return journey to Marseille, with drop-offs at the airport and train station. It’s never easy to say goodbye, but we part ways with memory cards full of stunning images, new friendships, and a heart full of inspiration. Until next time—merci et à bientôt! Photo Focus: Saying goodbye... but not before a few final frames.
